Wearing a pair of earrings adds beauty to your whole appearance. When you shop for earrings, you look at the material with which they are made, the color and other aspects but seldom do you choose earrings according to the shape of your face. By choosing the right earrings that match well with the shape of your face, you will look more beautiful and stand out in any crowd. Oval face When you have an oval shaped face, your forehead is as wide as your cheek bones. From the cheeks, the face narrows down to a rounded chin. Almost all styles of earrings look good on oval shaped face. However, you look best when you wear dangling earrings, as they highlight the elegant shape of your face. Pearl studs, teardrop and oval earrings make you look the best. Round face When you have a round face, your face is almost circular. So wear earrings that help in elongating your face like danglers or long jhumkas. Try to wear pieces with long angular designs rather than rounded designs. In fact, it's best to avoid small hoops as they make your face look wider. Heart shaped face Your forehead is wider than your cheeks. From the cheeks, your face narrows down to your chin. So choose earrings that are wider at the bottom. This will help in balancing your triangular face. You will look best in chandelier earrings. You can also go for behind-the-ear cuffs. Just tuck your hair behind the ears, wear a lovely pair of ear cuffs and look stunning. Square face When you have a square face, the width of your forehead, cheeks and jawline will be almost similar. So you should choose earrings with round designs as this helps in softening your cheekbones and the square jaw line. Large hoops that reach up to the jaw line or ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/how-to-select-the-best-earrings-for-your-face-shape/

How to wear a saree to look slim?
Saree is one of the best clothing for women and it makes you look very beautiful and elegant if you drape it the right way. It can help you look slimmer and camouflage those extra flabs if you choose the right fabric and drape it well. Here are a few ways how you can look slim wearing a saree. Drape it well The way you drape a saree and carry it decides how beautiful and slim you look in a saree. If you do not drape it properly, you will look clumsy in it. So next time when you drape a saree, follow the tips given below: When you tuck your saree at the waist, make sure that it is done properly so that no volume is added to your body. Make minimum number of pleats so that the saree is draped well and you get a perfect shape. Plump women with too many pleats look plumper and bulgy from their stomach area. If the saree is too long and you have to make more pleats, then take care to tuck them at a distance, so that all of them are not gathered at a single place. To look slimmer, you have to drape your saree tighter around your body. Make sure that it is not loose at any point. Another thing to remember is to keep the pallu open. Do not pleat the pallu and pin it on your shoulder. Avoid big prints Most women love to wear printed sarees but if you love sarees with big prints, then it is time you avoid them if you really want to look slim. Smaller prints, designs and embroideries can make you look slimmer. Avoid sarees with wide borders If you are healthy or overweight, you must never go for broad borders. This will enhance your curves even more. On the other hand, you ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/how-to-wear-a-saree-to-look-slim/

Signs which show that you’re too much addicted to F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
If you are someone like me who has not left a single episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, then Joey, Chandler, Ross, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe must have become your best friends by now. You may not know what's happening in the life of your real life friends but you know everything that happened with these 6 New Yorkers in all the 10 seasons of the show. You must be so addicted to the show that even though it's been 12 years since the show last aired, it still remains fresh in your memory. True, isn't it? You always run like no one is watching Remember, when Phoebe taught Rachel to run like no one is watching. Of course, you do. Your pickup line is engraved as “How you doin’?” You won’t disagree with me when I’d say that your favorite pick-up line is the one which Joey used to pick-up the girls, “How you doin’?” Perhaps, if the person you are interested in is a keen watcher of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. you would never have any trouble in setting up a date (Check out First Date Tips Just For Women). When asked to dance, Chandler comes to your rescue Perhaps Chandler's dance was one of your favourite things from the show:) Whenever someone asks you to dance, you don’t miss the opportunity to dance like him and make people laugh harder. Imagine this dance style on the wedding of your friend. #Baarati_style Your metaphors are mostly references from the show It’s sad when you say something and people don’t understand and it’s even sadder when you quote something from the show and people actually can’t interpret it. But it hardly matters because you are laughing so hard saying metaphors which are references from the show. You want to own an apartment like that of Monica’s I know that just like me, you always wanted to own an apartment like ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/signs-which-show-that-youre-too-much-addicted-to-f-r-i-e-n-d-s/

7 things a girl’s brain mildly whispers on a date
Ever been in a situation when you actually forget the name of the guy you are on date with, so you check their Tinder profile again. With the dating and hook up trend swarming around, there are times when things don’t happen the way you expected them to be. Your mind keeps thinking about things which you won't say out loud as you are still quite sober. We all have been in similar situation so what is it that goes on in our brain at this point. I can’t breathe in this dress and I’m hungry It’s very obvious that you dress up really really nice when you are going on a date. You put on that dress which you were longing to get dressed in for so long. As that long stretched a bit long, you have put on some lumps of fat but anyways you would still manage to squeeze yourself in that dress. But when the guy is damn extrovert and the conversation keeps going on and on, then the real problem starts. You want to shout and tell him that you can’t even breathe in this dress and that you’re damn hungry. Keep it subtle, I can see you staring at my chest Yes, we do stare at your lips, your groomed beard but we keep it really subtle and you can do the same while staring at our chest. Please don’t make us think you are creepy. You think I’m doing all those cute little things without realizing, but the fact is I’d never been more conscious . Of course, I’ve read many scoop whoop and cosmopolitan articles and I know what cute little things will capture your attention and make you adore me. I do such things very carefully and consciously when you think of them as just me. I’m not really sure that I like you, but dammit I ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/7-things-a-girls-brain-mildly-whispers-on-a-date/

10 one-liners said by mothers that every girl would relate to
We will all agree that there is one person in our lives for whom we can put everything at stake, that’s our beloved mother. But at the same time, we can’t deny the fact that they are the most sarcastic creatures in our lives. Let's check out the favourite one-liners of our dear Moms that most of us can relate with. See which one of these is uttered by your mom the most. 1. When I was at your age, I used to do all the household chores. Look at you; you don’t even know how to light the gas. Well, yes mother we know how talented you are. You are the best cook that’s why eating is my favorite hobby. 2. Will you ever get tired of using that mobile-phone; I should rather start giving you these mobiles in dinner instead of food. Well, in this modern world, these sarcastic dialogues come handy for every teenager. Sure, we do love our mobiles a lot as they make our lives so much comfy, but there is no replacement for food. We live for food, please don’t mind when we overuse our mobiles a bit. 3. When you will get married, your husband and mother-in-law would be so disappointed with you. Of course, the sole purpose of our lives is to get married and please our husbands and in-laws. (I can’t help with the sarcasm, that’s inherited from you.) Well, who knows, I’ll be getting married or not. 4. I don’t know, ask your dad. This is most favorite saying of our Moms. Well, what’s the point of asking you something, if we had guts, we would’ve already asked dad. By chance we even do so and consider the chances when dad says yes too, you won’t restrain yourself from convincing him to say no, by reminding him of all the pros and cons. 5.
Advertisement Network-

Punjabi Weddings – Lively and Vibrant
No other person is as jovial as a Punjabi is. They are known for their larger than life celebrations. They love being vivacious, extravagant and how can they forget being ostentatious when it comes to weddings. It’s not just wedding time but time for Papa Ji’s to flaunt their wealth by spending lavish amount of money, it’s time for aunty ji’s to show off their gold jewellery, it’s time for cousins to prove the Punjabi DNA by dancing on the beats of dhol, it’s time for bhangra and all time favorite - The Naagin Dance and showering bank notes on dholwalas. Their weddings are full of razzle-dazzle and an important ingredient – daaru (alcohol) without which their wedding is like fish without water. Let’s have a sneak-peak at this vivaciously celebrated wedding and its rituals. Pre-Wedding Rituals Various rituals are performed before tying the bride and the groom in a sacred knot. These ceremonies hold an immense significance as they are considered to be auspicious and benevolent for the wedding. Most of the Pre-wedding rituals are very similar in case of both Hindu Punjabi Weddings and Sikh Punjabi Weddings. All these rituals are as piquant as the Punjabis and give them a reason for never ending celebrations. Roka: Roka literally means 'stop' which implies that both families have now stopped looking for a match for their son/daughter and it marks the beginning of their relationship. As soon as the couple nods to be together forever as a couple, Gurdaas (Punjabi prayer) is recited and gifts are exchanged. Roka is a small but a grand function after all Punjabis are hosting it. Gifts, sweets and dry fruits are exchanged marking the acceptance of both the families of the new relationship. Akhand Paath: In case of Sikh weddings, once the bride and groom declare their intent to marry each other, an akhand ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/punjabi-weddings-lively-and-vibrant/

How to Purify Water-
How to Purify Water-

How to Purify Water-
How to Purify Water-

Bindi – More Than A Dot Of Hue
Indian culture always comes with so many surprises and one of them is this tiny ornament, a pretty red bindi. No doubt putting a bindi on forehead makes women look extremely beautiful and stunning! This bindi is a sweet reminder of some of the best childhood memories. I think we all remember playing those games in our childhood like ghar ghar, gudda gudiya ki shaadi, dressing up as a bride putting on tons of makeup, wearing our Mom's favourite dupatta and putting a bindi on top. Such a cute memory! What's interesting is that this tiny ornament, known by different names in different parts of India (bindu, botu, tilak, tilakam, kumkum, phot, tip etc.) is not just a dot that enhances a woman’s beauty but it is more than that. It has a strong historical and cultural influence in our society, In ancient vedic period, Brahmins used to put a bindi or bindu of sandalwood paste signifying purity, Kshatriyas - the warrior caste put red tilak showing fortitude and valour, Vaishyas put haldi tilak for prosperity as they were the trading class and Shudras put a black mark reflecting their status as the serving or the lower caste. So here, this bindi actually reflected the status and class difference in the society. It is also believed that the place where bindi is put, is the place where “Ajna Chakra” resides. It is the sixth chakra in human body. Pineal gland is situated here. This gland secretes Melatonin hormone which regulates sleep. It fights insomnia and also helps in waking up early in morning. Reciting and concentrating the syllable “OM” and placing bindi right there on point helps in killing the “Ahankar” or Ego. This helps in introspection, self realisation and internal peace. At the same time, ajna chakra is the area which heats up due to tension or any kind of stress. ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/bindi-more-than-a-dot-of-hue/

Natural Solutions to Slow Down Ageing
The cons of ageing are best described in the words of Norman Wisdom, “As you get older three things happen. The first is your memory goes, and I can’t remember the other two…” So, here we are listing several natural solutions for the anti-ageing process. Anti-ageing here means not only getting younger physically but also mentally and spiritually. Neem Oil The most acknowledged plant in field of medicine is Neem. The oil extracted from the leaves of this tree acts as the anti oxidant for the skin. Moreover, this oil contains vitamin E which helps in rejuvenating the tired cells of the skin and provides extra glow to the texture. It even cures the acne problems, hands down. Ladies high alert…! Lavender Yes, perhaps by the smell of the perfume in your closet, you know that it smells terrific. Plus, it rehydrates the skin, giving you away that youthful feel. You can add lavender to your bath, or rub it on your skin. It even reduces the fine line and wrinkles. Yes exactly, you can easily replace your Olay cream with this. Herbs Talking of herbs, turmeric is at the top of the list. This contains nutrients and anti-oxidants which amazingly slow down the process of ageing. Perhaps, your mother was right about this. Another in the list is the garlic also known as the stinking rose. It should not be taken jarred, powdered or in the dry form, instead a fresh clove should be taken chopped or smashed. Taking it with water in the morning on an empty stomach adds more to the benefits. Blueberries Well, this option sounds tasty. Yes, consuming blueberries can also gear down the process of ageing. It reduces the cholesterol levels, keeps you immune from the cancer. It even prevents the ageing of the brain. Timeless beauties of Bollywood Rekha & Sridevi
In the words of Henry Arthur Jones, “Beauty itself soon fades, and when a woman has beauty and nothing else, well, it's like putting all the goods in the shop window, isn't it? And the moment she loses her good looks--poor creature! What is she? Just a mere bit of faded finery to be thrown aside” Well, some beauties of B-town amazingly defy his words. These glamorous women had dodged the phenomenon of aging and are walking down on the road of eternal beauty. Rekha and Sridevi are unquestionably the toppers of this list. For all the upcoming and brimming actresses of today’s generation, Rekha Ganesan is truly an epitome of beauty. Even at the age of 61, she very well manages to make bold style statements. Whenever, someone talks of heavy Kanchipuram silk sarees and chandelier earrings, Rekha comes standing in her smoky eyes as an icon in the imagery of my mind. Her pristine white churidars and anarkali suits and dresses, all were trendsetters of her era and are still in vogue today. Crowned as “Evergreen Timeless beauty”, Rekha herself admits that the secret of her timeless beauty lies in yoga and highly disciplined lifestyle. Surprisingly, in the initial years of her career, she was termed as the “Ugly Duckling” of Hindi films as she carried a dark complexion and sharp features suited for Telgu films. With the years of penance, she transformed herself into a diva. This incredible metamorphosis embarked her entry in bollywood, making her emerge as an unbelievable eye-catching idol. Even after so many years of devotion at work, the beauty of this lady refuses to leave her side, charming the hearts of millions. Talking about Sridevi Kapoor, she is another embodiment of gorgeousness. At the age of 52, she is still the personification of charisma and style. Be it traditional or bohochic ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/timeless-beauties-of-bollywood-rekha-sridevi/

Sindoor – An Age Old Tradition or Something More
We are so familiar with this famous dialogue from Om shanti om, "ek chutki sindoor ki kimat tum kya jano Ramesh babu.” Well this ek chutki has a lot of significance in our Indian tradition. Most Hindu weddings are not complete without the groom applying the Vermilion along the parting of bride's hair (Maang). The sindoor is considered as a blessing for the bride as the red color of sindoor indicates flowing blood, rejuvenating life especially of her husband. It is believed to protect her husband from evil and is considered so auspicious that for the longevity of her husband's life, the wife applies sindoor in her hair parting every single day till the time she remains married and her husband is living. In fact, application of sindoor is one of those things which is supported by both mythology and science. In Hindu tradition, it is commonly believed that Goddess Parvati used to apply sindoor in her hair partition. And as red color emancipates power, applying sindoor invokes shakti, i.e Parvati who is believed to protect the life of all husbands whose wives put sindoor on their head. As per Ramayana, Sita Ji used to put Sindoor to please Sri Ram. Even Hanuman ji started applying sindoor on his body to please his prabhu Sri Ram and that is the reason why even today, devotees offer sindoor on Hanuman idols. In fact, there is a famous aarti in Marathi “Sindoor Lal Chadhayo Gajamukha Ko” which indicates that sindoor is offered to Ganesh ji as well. Rooted in these mythological aspects, this tradition has a long history. Archaelogical excavations in Mehrgarh suggest that this ritual was also performed over 5000 years ago. Female figurines at this Harappan site were found with sindoor in their hair partition. This ritual is also mentioned in the Puranas, Lalitha Sahasranama and Soundarya Lahari. However, there is also a scientific aspect to this ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/sindoor-an-age-old-tradition-or-something-more/

Haldi Ceremony – More Than A Ritual
The best part about Indian Weddings is that they are full of beautiful rituals and customs which have a deep meaning. However, we often end up following these customs blindly without fully understanding their significance. Such is the case with the quintessential Haldi ceremony which has been a part of Indian weddings for centuries. The most common and regular use of Haldi or Turmeric is as an ingredient in Indian cuisine. Then it makes little sense as to why an entire ritual is named after this food ingredient. Well, not only does applying haldi help in getting a fair and glowing skin (oh yeah!), its saffron color is also believed to protect the wedding couple and ward off evil eye. That is why in many customs, once the haldi ceremony has taken place, it is advisable for the bride and groom to not go out or meet each other until they get married. Yellow color of Haldi is considered so auspicious that it is believed that applying this color will result in a peaceful, prosperous and blissful married life for the couple. And the bath afterwards will cleanse and purify their body and soul. Due to the anti-septic properties of turmeric (an ayurvedic and organic herb), the couple will also be free from any cut, bruise or ailment before the wedding. However, these are not the only reasons why this ceremony is so very special. Organised at both bride's and groom's house separately just before the wedding day, the haldi ceremony is not just an ordinary ritual but one which strengthens the existing bonds and marks the foundation of new bonds. This ceremony brings close friends and family together before the main wedding ceremony in an informal kind of setting. It's such a beautiful sight to witness that while the elders are applying haldi to the bride and groom, giving them their blessings for new life, ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/haldi-ceremony-more-than-a-ritual/

Bengali Weddings – Gorgeous Spread of Ceremonies
In India, tying of nuptial knot is bliss not only for the couple but also for both sides’ families. Different cultures in India have different traditions and rituals for a wedding. The very essence of Bengali wedding is that one gets to see never-met-relatives, eating mouth-watering Bengali dishes and have a beautiful sight of long and elaborative but gorgeous rituals. Blowing of conch shell and ululation by the women is the heart of any ceremony of Bengal and so is for marriage. The Bengali wedding is celebrated in much cordial and peaceful manner. For the marriage ceremonies to go swiftly, borkortas (eldest male member) from both the families are appointed. So unlike some of the North Indian weddings, there are no ego clashes just because groom’s side is considered to be superior one. Most of the Indian weddings are assemblage of engagement ceremony, pre-wedding, wedding day and post-wedding ceremonies and Bengali marriage is no different. Interesting but there are said to be 1001 rituals in a typical Hindu Bengali wedding. Listed below are the main rituals and ceremonies. Engagement Ceremony A Hindu Bong wedding can’t take place between the couples of same gotra. For this purpose, a priest is consulted. Then the groom’s family reaches bride’s family to fix the marriage date. This ritual is known as Paka-Dekha. This is followed by Ashirbaad (blessing) ceremony wherein elders of both the families bless the bride and groom with husk rice and trefoil. Bride and groom’s family then exchange presents and sweets and officially announce the wedding. Pre-Wedding Rituals Pre-wedding rituals have their own significance and they are considered auspicious for the wedding. A typical Bengali Wedding involves following rituals - Wedding Piris: A day before wedding, wooden piris are brought to the bride’s family on which bride and groom sit and they are painted and decorated with conch shells by ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/bengali-weddings-gorgeous-spread-of-ceremonies/

Handloom Tradition of West Bengal
West Bengal has lots to boast about and its handloom sector is one among them. This state has a rich tradition of handloom weaving. This has been a part of their cultural heritage from time immemorial. With more than 3.5 lakh handlooms in the state, its handloom products are not only famous in India but also all over the world. ‘Jamdani’ and ‘Tangail’ are the two pioneer sarees among the heritage handloom products of this state. Jamdani is one of the finest fabrics that you can ever have. Jamdani is a handloom woven fabric made of cotton, which was referred to as muslin in the past. It has its origin in Bengal. Making of jamdani saree is a very time consuming process. The laborers engaged in the making of jamdani sarees are highly skilled as it needs full concentration and artistic skills. In fact, it is known as the most artistic textile of the weavers in West Bengal. Instead of using karpasa cotton, weavers now use a blend of cotton and silk to make jamdani sarees. They have multicolored floral and linear motifs as well as mango motifs on them. Various patterns found on these sarees include rose, jasmine, bunches of ginger and sago, lotus and even bunches of bananas. Traditional dhakai jamdani sarees with geometrical designs and cotton tangails are still woven by weavers originally from Bangladesh, and are very popular. Jamdani sarees are expensive and were once worn only by the royalty and the rich. Tangail or Tant saree has its origin in Tangail in Bangladesh. The weavers making tangail sarees settled in Katwa Dhatrigram, Tamaghata and Samudragarh areas in Burdwan district in West Bengal before the partition. Bengal Tant Sarees are ideal for daily wear and have been worn by Bengali women since ages. They are adorned with parsleys, stars, flowers and ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/handloom-tradition-of-west-bengal-2/

Maternity Clothes That Aren’t Ugly
Motherhood is one of the blessed moments in a woman’s life. Once you come to know that you are pregnant, you are very excited and can’t wait to see your baby’s face. At the same time, you are a little worried about the ever increasing size of your tummy and want to cover it so that people do not notice it easily. While many women go for the ultra comfortable loose fit maternity clothes, the idea of wearing them adds to the pregnancy woes for some. If you are somewhere in the second group, you my dear mother, need not worry anymore:) During the first trimester, your bump will not show much. So you can cover it up easily by wearing A-line skirts, soft knits, empire-waisted tops, wrap skirts and dresses. Avoid wearing anything that is tight and clingy, as these types of clothes can easily reveal the slight bump. The outfit you choose must flow over your belly, hips and the thighs so that it covers the few pounds that you have gained during the first three months of your pregnancy. You can choose ‘blouson’ style tops for women, which have a fitted waistband at the bottom and some room above the waistband. Here the fabric falls loosely over your belly and the fitted waistband provides more shape to your body. Wear this with a pair of stretch jeans and you will feel comfortable. Tunics are also a good option. They are fitted well across the shoulders and arms and flow gracefully over your belly, camouflaging the extra weight in the middle. As you reach the second trimester, people start noticing your bump. You will have to change your underwear as well and buy a bigger size. Make sure that it is comfortable and does not irritate you in any way. When you buy ... https://www.shimply.com/articles/maternity-clothes-that-arent-ugly/

Although work life gets pretty hectic at times, the best part about it is to have the money in your bank account to actually be able to plan the trip without looking at your parents. While we travel with our family most of the times and it's fun, it is difficult to describe the excitement of an all girls trip, especially if you share a great bond with your girlies and you guys have the same wavelength. Being a girl, even if you are a working woman, most Indian parents will get anxious about your safety and you going alone with your girl friends just add to their worries. However, as long as they know your friends and you plan your trip meticulously letting them know the details, they will be happy to let you go:) Here are some travel tips that will come in pretty handy while planning a trip with your girlies - Select a destination India has a plethora of places to visit - from hill stations to deserts to beaches, you can choose where you want to go. Are You Troubled By Sweat-क्या आप पसीने से परेशान है
Are You Troubled By Sweat-क्या आप पसीने से परेशान है-
