Ae Dil Hai Mushkil- A melange of all KJo movies

The much-awaited Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been just released. As far as the first reports of the movie collections suggest, the movie is doing good at the box office. But how is the movie? Is it worth watching? Is it one of Karan Johar’s best directorial? Who gave the best performance? Well, for all those who haven’t watched it yet, we have all your questions answered.
We all have a set picture in our minds when it comes to Karan Johar’s movies. Beautiful locations, soulful songs, lots of romance and drama and of course, brilliant performances. Yes, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has it all.
Amazing performances
Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma are the stars of the movie. Their performances as Ayaan and Alizeh are brilliant. Aishwarya Rai looks nothing less than a diva in the movie. Her extended cameo in the movie gives the much-required additional spark. Shahrukh Khan and Fawad Khan do all the justice to their special appearances.

Soulful music
The title track of the movie is already hitting all the music charts and all thanks to the magical voice of Arijit Singh. The music adds so much magic to this romantic drama that the onscreen heartbreak makes you cry. Channa Mereya, another one by Arijit is a beautiful music number of the movie. Other songs of the movie, Bulleya, The Breakup Song and Cutiepie are good too.

Too much Kjo
While Karan was directing this one, he put in too much from his earlier movies. Yes, there were scenes where we could see Rahul and Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Aman and Naina from Kal Ho Na Ho. With this one, we were expecting Karan to spread the magic with something fresh. However, we didn’t get an opportunity to see it.
Not very interesting second half
The movie takes us through friendship, love, emotions and drama. While the first half is very entertaining, the second half stretches the one-sided love thing too much…all that is so yesterday. This half stretches so much that we start losing interest at a point and that is one big drawback of the movie.

Our rating: 3/5

So, this one has equal goods and bads. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaches a lot about one sided love. It would meet the viewers expectations in the sixties, but not in 2016. We would say that this is a good watch for everyone. Ranbir is the star highlight of the movie and he will keep you hooked up to your seats till the end. Ranbir Kapoor fans are you reading?
