Pinterest and Getty Images join hands

It seems that Pinterest has been trying to improve user experience on its website. Lately, it has made a number of amendments all pertaining to the increasing space for content and written detail. On Friday, October 25, the company signed a deal with Getty Images, A US based stock photography company. Now, when user will pin an image that already exists on the web, Pinterest will fetch metadata from Getty Images which include description, photographer and date taken. These attributes will appear alongside that photo on the user’s pin board.

In an official company blog post, Michael Yamartino, Product Manager at Pinterest said “One thing we’ve found is that the more we know about a pin, the more valuable we can make it for you. That’s why we’ve been working with partners to get more data into Pinterest to help us make recommendations, make pins more useful, and even offer notifications when prices drop”

Pinterest has regulated the style of its presentation to a large extent. They have implied many new strategies and many new ways to increase the fan base and loyal users to their website.
