US adults get news from Facebook


According to a research study conducted by the Pew Research Centre in the US, about 80% users stumble upon news over Facebook, although they do not log into social networking site for the same.


According to the study released on 24th October, 64% of U.S. adults use Facebook and about 30% of US adults get news on Facebook. The study also claimed that 4 percent of Facebook news consumers said the platform is the most important way they obtain their news. The social media giant is increasing its parameters and giving its users many reasons to stay aboard with them.


The world’s largest social media site displays a news stream where people and publishers can share news. It has become an easy and an interesting way to gather news and make the most out of it. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are all trying aggregate and share news in an effort to keep people with them. Recently, Facebook said that referral traffic to publishers’ sites increased 170 percent through the past year.
