Rumor has it that photo sharing app Instagram is all set to unveil private messaging feature. Reports reveal that this new feature is close to launch and the company is also trying to incorporate a group messaging feature along with it. The group messaging feature is expected to be out by 2014.
Facebook, Instagram’s parent company, has also been putting an emphasis on messaging lately. Facebook Messenger was updated last month for both iOS and Android. It makes sense that the company is looking to add personal messaging functionality to Instagram as well.
The app has more than 150 million users. Including a chatting option will increase its usability rate manifold. You never know that in times to come Instagram might be able to repeat the success Facebook success.
