The Black Friday Twitter


If Twitter is right then this year Black Friday may not be as bad as last year. A thorough sentiment analysis of tweets related to ‘Black Friday’ reveals that people are comparatively more positive about Black Friday compared with last year.


Twitter is one of those platforms that receive tweets from all over the world regarding every issue and every topic under the sun. Hashtag has become one of the most powerful tool for cataloging information. So powerful that Twitter’s competitor Facebook has adopted it. Tracking these hashtags and using certain social media monitoring tools can give you a comprehensive look into the mind of the people.


According to a sentiment analysis done for Black Friday mentions on Twitter, out of a total of 674,000 tweets 46% were positive, around 36% were negative and other remained neutral to the day.


Black Friday boycott could not gain much followers this year. People are looking excited this year about the day, making plans and sharing their enthusiasm.


The impact of this day on the sales and revenue earned during the holiday season will soon be revealed when the outlets complete their journal entries. However, things are looking pretty good.
