Newspaper President is Pinterest’s new Head of Content Partnerships

Joanne Bradford, President of San Francisco Chronicle, is all set to join Pinterest as the Head of Content Partnerships. She has about four years of experience of valuable experience, working as Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer at Demand Media, after some important positions at Microsoft and Yahoo.

Bradford’s role is likely to be similar to Schiller’s at Twitter. Bradford’s new responsibilities will include building both commercial and content partnerships globally. She will also serve as a liaison between Pinterest and the San Francisco Chronicle’s parent company, Hearst Corporation, developing strategic partnerships between the two companies.

Pinterest has always positioned itself in a way that it can be considered as journalism site. The company had introduced article pins in September to lure and encourage publications to come and be a part of the website largely. Hiring an executive with industry connections to bring together the social and journalism sides, was a logical step.
