Yahoo Upgrades its security

Yahoo has announced its resolve to increase the protection of its users’ accounts. Yahoo mail is planning to increase security by introducing SSL encryption with a 2048-bit key across the network by January 8, 2014. Google has already declared its successful migration to 2048-bit key SSL encryption this week.

Yahoo is taking this measure in response to the rumors evolving over the last six months about the U.S. government secretly accessing user data without the knowledge of tech companies.

According to an official blog post by Yahoo, the company will be encrypt all information flow between data centers, offer users to encrypt all data flow to and from Yahoo and ensure that Yahoo co-branded mail accounts are https-enabled.

It seems Yahoo is taking every possible step to make sure that their users feel secured.
