Another year has passed and time has come to bid 2013 goodbye. Don’t you want to see how 2013 was for you? You cannot review yourself in the past year (unless you are monitoring yourself) but you can review your last year on social media.
Last year, Facebook had launched Personal Year in Reviews which was liked a lot by its users and social media critics alike. This year, Facebook has added a separate Year in Review feature that highlights the top 30 moments and life events from users’ Facebook friends.
Although the original feature ‘Year in Review’ is still present where users can see their top Facebook moments in the past year, people are excited about the friend review and are viewing as well as sharing it on their own and their friend’s timeline. To find out your friend’s year in review, first create your own. On your year in review page, you will find the link to get your friend’s year in review page.
The top 30 moments selected are calculated based on the number of likes, comments and shares on posts. Users can also interact with posts and images of from their friend’s review to revisit those moments. If a friend visits your Year in Review page, they will only be able to see the moments and posts that were shared with them.
Facebook’s effort to attract users and create a holiday magic sure deserves applause.
