It seems Google always is on the move with new update rolling out everyday in one product or other. Google has now unveiled a new update for Google Map app for iOS, with flight and hotel reservations. Gmail has also been modified to never request a user to allow display of images within the mail.
Google Maps’ iOS users can now get all the information about reservations in flights and hotels on the app. If, for example, you have a flight reserved at the JFK, when you search for that airport in the app, you’ll get info about your reservation. However, this will only happen if the flight confirmation is sent out to your Gmail account which is linked to the Google Maps on the same device. The feature is enabled on the desktop version as well.
Gmail account has also undergone a lot of modifications in the past few months. Gmail will no longer wait for your permission to “display images below.” Google, on December 12, rolled out improvements which involved removal of seeking permission to display images. This permission was to make sure that the user’s mail was not infected with any virus. Now, all images are checked for viruses and malware ahead of time, so it doesn’t matter whether the picture came from someone you don’t know. This update has already been rolled out for the desktop versions but mobile apps will not be updated before 2014.
Google might be doing a lot of research because the new features are going to be sensational.
