Twitter is making some serious additions to its advertising feature to get attract advertisers and make advertising more relevant. To catch up with Facebook and other platforms, Twitter has come with a new feature ‘Broad Match’ keywords, which would find the relevant ads by “matching the tweets containing keywords in any order, including words in between. Includes related terms, stem variations, synonyms, misspellings and slang.”
Nipoon Malhotra, Product Manager, Revenue at Twitter announced the move in a blog post along with his favorite coffee example.
If the advertiser is does not want to use Broad Search, they can use + sign between keyword to ensure just specific keywords are targeted. Use Love + Latte to target just latte lovers and not espresso lovers.
Twitter has already rolled out the feature, which is available through ads.twitter.com and Twitter’s advertiser API, along with other enhanced targeting tools including keyword targeting.
