Google+ Holiday Awesomeness

This year Google is adding a special ‘twinkle’ to the holiday season. The company is planning to two new additions to Google+ ‘Auto Awesome’ feature. Now, with ‘Auto Awesome’ your picture will twinkle like your Christmas trees, holiday lights, or a Menorah. Images that feature snow will look like snow is actually falling over the picture.

Once a user uploads a picture on the platform, the original image is analyzed and a new GIF image will be created with that some spark to it. This new image will be automatically created and user will be notified once it is created. However, your original images will remain intact and unharmed as you uploaded.

For those who are unfamiliar with ‘Auto Awesome’, its a feature on Google+ that analyzes the images uploaded on the social networking site to automatically create visual effects and animations from visually similar images. This feature can be enabled by going on Google+ settings page.

The two new additions were announced by Erik Murphy, Engineer at Google, on his Google+ profile.

“We hope these features help you celebrate the ‘wonder’ in winter wonderland!” said Murphy in a post.
