The new Android update for Twitter’s app is now available on Google Play. Making it a more advanced approach and a better outlook. The update contains of changes made in the photo editing, discovery and sharing features which was announced on 27th January by Twitter engineer Matt Belland via a blog post.
This time the updates are more or less concentrated to photo sharing related features. The photos before being uploaded can be cropped and a particular aspect ratio can be selected as per the users need. It can wide or square aspect depending upon how the image is. Before finally uploading the photo, Twitter now also gives the option to mention friends much like Facebook’s tagging friends in the photos feature.
If we take a broader look at the entire scenario, Twitter has been working off late on photos and their sharing way too much. Recently, Vine videos and photos began appearing on the Twitter timelines of users, now photos can be sent via direct messages to users, also Twitter surfaced a user’s photo gallery instead of a keyboard when he or she starts to compose a tweet.
So it won’t be wrong to actually point out that Twitter is giving a keen and prolonged thought on the way photos and images look, appear and do on Twitter. Apart from photos, the discovery feature has also been given a boost. In absence of any tweets to show, the app will display trending topics, recommended accounts to follow or popular tweets. U.S. residents will also see news, entertainment and sports updates.
In all, the Android app for Twitter has undergone a series of changes which the company wishes to roll out for iOS users as well soon enough.
