Vine announced the rollout of the updated version of their web platform on January 3, 2014 for its social media uesrs. It allows users to scroll through the feed, comment on videos, like videos, visit profiles of the people they follow and scroll through those users’ Vine videos. The version does not allow users to post videos as of now or search for another and other channels.
The new update is available only for the web version and is called the TV Mode. Now the users can click on the icon of the feature which is a TV shaped one and view the videos of that user in full screen mode. Half the screen is devoted to the video and the other half is used for the video’s title or description. Users can also use TV Mode to click through all of the videos from someone they follow.
Although the layout of both the web and mobile app’s version is almost the same there are minute changes in them. In the web version, actions on buttons are now spelled out instead of labeled, meaning users will see “Like” and “Revine” instead of icons. The comments section also has a small message that disappears when a user begins typing in the comment box: “Say something nice.”
Vine is trying its best to provide web users of the app the best experience. Janessa Det, a Vine engineer, wrote on the company blog. “We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014.”
